Novel Epigenetic Programmes

CellCentric’s PI network has identified multiple new targets from diverse classes of epigenetic-related proteins including histone demethylases, methyltransferases, ubiquitin ligases, deubiquitinases, RNA-editing enzymes, and cell surface signaling receptors.  This superior breadth and depth of epigenetic information is backed up by an unparalleled understanding of the complex networks and pathways that control epigenetic processes.

CellCentric’s unequalled pre-publication insight into these targets from its PI network allows it to recognise opportunities and select the best targets from a broader pool than competitors.  It is best positioned to prioritize targets and select drug candidates based on detailed knowledge of many targets within many classes.

CellCentric’s primary therapeutic focus is cancer.  The company has already developed assays for multiple target classes including protein methyltransferases, protein demethylases, ubiquitin ligases and cell surface receptors in different epigenetic pathways. Novel chemical hits have been generated.  Multiple programmes will be taken through lead optimization, candidate section and IND. R&D delivery is being carried out through a mixed model of in-house capabilities and contract research organizations, in Europe, the US and China.

Pharmaceutical Company Interaction

Given CellCentric’s dominant innovation platform, the company is a natural partner for pharmaceutical companies seeking a springboard into the important and emerging field of epigenetics. A relationship with Takeda Pharmaceuticals has been developed. A separate relationship with a top tier Pharma company has also been established.

CellCentric has multiple targets that could be pursued in parallel to its current prioritized programmes. It is envisaged that in addition to the company’s own development activities, other selected target programmes will be taken forward through Pharma collaboration to IND and beyond.
